"AMOR CARITAS" This bronze in the Luxembourg illustrates an idea which had a peculiar fascination for Saint-Gaudens. The same fig ure, but with arms lowered, was used by him for one of the angels of the Morgan tomb at Hartford. Practically identi cal with this bronze is the angel on the tomb of Ann Maria Smith at Newport, which was carried out by the sculptor's brother, Louis Saint-Gaudens. |
