HEREAS the religious trappists of the Lake of Two Preamble, Mountains, to wit: Fr. M. Guillaume, prior; Fr. M. Jean-Baptiste, priest, cellarer; Fr. M. Alban, priest, and Fr. M. Louis de Gonzague, priest, have, by their petition, represented that they have founded an establishment at the Lake of Two Mountains, in the district of Terrebonne, for the purpose of devoting themselves to agriculture and to teaching it, both in theory and practice; Whereas, already through the generosity of the Seminary of St. Sulpice, of Montreal, they possess, at the Lake of Two Mountains, farms which they are beginning to work, and which they intend to improve, so as to make model farms at which young men may be taught agriculture and stock-raising, and improve themselves in the knowledge thereof; Whereas, in order to obtain this end more effectually,
