To thy Father's bosom pressed,
Yet again a child confessed,
Never from his house to roam;
Come and welcome, sinner, come.

4 "Soon the days of life shall end;
Lo! I come, your Saviour, Friend,
Safe your spirits to convey

To the realms of endless day,
Up to my eternal home;

Come and welcome, sinner, come."

Tune, Come, ye Sinners.

PRAYER MEETING TUNE BOOK, PAGE 76.

8, 7, 4.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." MATT. xi. 28.

COME, ye sinners, poor and needy,

Weak and wounded, sick and sore;

Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of mercy, love, and power.
He is able,

He is willing: doubt no more.

2 Ho! ye needy, come and welcome,
God's free bounty glorify;
True belief, and true repentance,
Every grace that brings us nigh.
Without money,

Come to Jesus Christ, and buy.

3 Let not conscience make you linger,
Nor of fitness fondly dream!
All the fitness he requireth
Is to feel your need of him.
This he gives you,

'Tis the Spirit's rising beam.

4 Come, ye weary, heavy laden,
Lost and ruined by the fall,
If you tarry till you're better,
You will never come at all.
Not the righteous,

Sinners, Jesus came to call.

5 Lo! the incarnate God, ascended,
Pleads the merit of his blood;
Venture on him, venture wholly,
Let no other trust intrude;
None but Jesus

"Where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"

1 PET. iv. 18.

WHEN thy mortal life is fled,

W

7.8.

When the death shades o'er thee spread,
When is finished thy career,
Sinner, where wilt thou appear?

2 When the world has passed away,
When draws near the judgment day,
When the awful trump shall sound,
Say, oh, where wilt thou be found?
3 What shall soothe thy bursting heart,
When the saints and thou must part?
When the good with joy are crowned,
Sinner, where wilt thou be found?

4 While the Holy Ghost is nigh,
Quickly to the Saviour fly;

Then shall peace thy spirit cheer,
Then in heaven shalt thou appear.

"We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." ROMANS V.

STAND up, my soul, shake off thy fears, And gird the Gospel armour on

March to the gates of endless joy, Where Jesus, thy great Captain's gone. 2 Hell and thy sins resist thy course; But hell and sin are vanquished foes; Thy Saviour nailed them to the cross, And sung the triumph when he rose. 3 Then let my soul march boldly on,

Press forward to the heavenly gate; There peace and joy eternal reign, And glittering robes for conquerors wait. 4 There shall I wear a starry crown, And triumph in Almighty grace, While all the armies of the skies Join in my glorious Leader's praise.

my

title clear

WHEN I can read
To mansions in the skies,

I'll bid farewell to every fear

And wipe my weeping eyes.

2 Should earth against my soul engage,
And fiery darts be hurled,
Then I can smile at Satan's rage,
And face a frowning world.

3 Let cares like a wild deluge come,
And storms of sorrow fall;
May I but safely reach my home,
My God, my heaven, my all.

4 There shall I bathe my weary soul
In seas of heavenly rest,
And not a wave of trouble roll
Across my peaceful breast.

"Rejoice in the Lord alway." PHIL. iv. 4.

CHILDREN of the heavenly King!
As ye journey, sweetly sing;

Sing your Saviour's worthy praise,
Glorious in his works and ways.
2 Ye are travelling home to God,
In the way the fathers trod;
They are happy now, and ye
Soon their happiness shall see.
3 Shout, ye little flock, and blest;
You on Jesus' throne shall rest;
There, your seat is now prepared,-
There, your kingdom and reward.
4 Fear not, brethren, joyful stand
On the borders of your land;
Jesus Christ, your Father's Son,
Bids you undismayed go on.
5 Lord, submissive make us go,
Gladly leaving all below;
Only thou our leader be,
And we still will follow thee.

"By grace ye are saved through faith." EPH. ii. 8.

GR

RACE! 'tis a charming sound,
Harmonious to the ear;

Heaven with the echo shall resound,
And all the earth shall hear.

2 Grace first contrived a way
To save rebellious man,

And all the means that grace display,
Which drew the wondrous plan.

3 Grace guides my wandering feet
To tread the heavenly road;
And new supplies each hour I meet
While pressing on to God.

4 Grace all the work shall crown
Through everlasting days;
It lays in heaven the topmost stone,
And well deserves the praise.

"Consider the Apostle and High-Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus." HEB. iii. 1.

WHEN gathering clouds around I view,
And days are dark, and friends are few,

On him I lean, who, not in vain,
Experienced every human pain;

He sees my wants, allays my fears,
And counts and treasures up my tears.
2 If aught should tempt my soul to stray
From heavenly virtue's narrow way,
To fly the good I should pursue,
Or do the sin I should not do;
Still he, who felt temptation's power,
Shall guard me in that dangerous hour.
3 And O, when I have safely past
Through every conflict but the last,
Still, still unchanging, watch beside
My bed of death, for thou hast died;
Then point to realms of cloudless day,
And wipe the latest tear away.
