No price is demanded, the Saviour is here, Redemption is purchased, salvation is free. 2 Delay not, delay not; why longer abuse

The love and compassion of Jesus, thy God? A fountain is opened,-how canst thou refuse To wash and be cleansed in his pardoning blood?

3 Delay not, delay not; the Spirit of grace, Long grieved and resisted, may take its sad flight,

And leave thee in darkness to finish thy

race,

To sink in the gloom of eternity's night.

"Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." EPH. v. 16.

SINNER, rouse thee from thy sleep,
Wake, and o'er thy folly weep;

Raise thy spirit dark and dead,
Jesus waits his light to shed.

2 Wake from sleep, arise from death,
See the bright and living path:
Watchful tread that path; be wise,
Leave thy folly, seek the skies.

3 Leave thy folly, cease from crime,
From this hour redeem thy time;
Life secure without delay,

Evil is the mortal day.

4 Be not blind and foolish still;
Called of Jesus, learn his will:
Jesus calls from death and night,
Jesus waits to shed his light.

"He will abundantly pardon." ISAIAH lv. 7.

8, 7, 4.

SINNERS, will ye scorn the message,
Sent in mercy from above?

Every sentence, Ö, how tender!
Every line is full of love:
Listen to it!

Every line is full of love.

2 Hear the heralds of the Gospel,
News from Zion's King proclaim,
To each rebel sinner,-"Pardon,
"Free forgiveness in his name:"
How important!

Free forgiveness in his name!

3 Tempted souls, they bring you succour;
Fearful hearts, they quell your fears;
And with news of consolation,

Chase away the falling tears:
Tender heralds,

Chase away the falling tears.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock." REV. iii. 20.

BEHOLD a stranger at the door,

He gently knocks, has knocked before, Hath waited long,-is waiting still; You treat no other friend so ill.

2 O, lovely attitude! He stands

With melting heart and loaded hands!
O, matchless kindness! and he shows
This matchless kindness to his foes!

3 Admit him, ere his anger burn,
His feet departed ne'er return;
Admit him, or the hour's at hand,
You'll at his door rejected stand.

"Return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy." ISAIAH lv. 7.

RETURN, O wanderer, return,

And seek an injured Father's face;

Those warm desires that in thee burn,
Were kindled by reclaiming grace.

2 Return, O wanderer, return,

And seek a Father's melting heart;
His pitying eyes thy grief discern,
His hand shall heal thy inward smart.

3 Return, O wanderer, return,

Thy Saviour bids thy spirit live; Go to his bleeding feet, and learn How freely Jesus can forgive.

4 Return, O wanderer, return,

And wipe away the falling tear; 'Tis God who says, "No longer mourn," 'Tis Mercy's voice invites thee near.

"My son, give me thine heart." PROV. xxiii. 26.

WEL

TELCOME, welcome, dear Redeemer,
Welcome to this heart of mine:

Lord, I make a full surrender,

Every power and thought be thine;
Thine entirely,

Through eternal ages thine.

2 Known to all to be thy mansion,
Earth and hell will disappear;
Or in vain attempt possession,
When they find the Lord is near:
Shout, O Zion!

60

Shout, ye saints, the Lord is here!

"Choose you this day whom you will serve." Josн. xxiv. 15.

TO-DAY, if ye will hear his voice,

Now is the time to make your choice.

Say, will you to Mount Zion go?
Say, will you have this Christ, or no?
2 Ye wandering souls, who find no rest,
Say, will you be forever blest?

Will you be saved from sin and hell?
Will you with Christ in glory dwell?
3 Come now, dear youth, for ruin bound,
Obey the gospel's joyful sound :

Come, go with us, and you shall prove
The joy of Christ's redeeming love.
4 Once more we ask you in his name,
For yet his love remains the same,
Say, will you to Mount Zion go?
Say, will you have this Christ, or no?

"Lord, save me!" MATT. xiv. 30.

C. P. M.

HOU God of glorious majesty,
To thee, against myself, to thee,
A worm of earth, I cry;

A half-awakened child of man;
An heir of endless bliss or pain;
A sinner born to die!

2 Lo! on a narrow neck of land,
'Twixt two unbounded seas I stand,
Secure, insensible !

A point of time, a moment's space,
Removes me to that heavenly place,
Or shuts me up in hell!

3 O God! my inmost soul convert, And deeply on my thoughtful heart Eternal things impress;

Give me to feel their solemn weight,
And tremble on the brink of fate,
And wake to righteousness.

4 Before me place, in dread array, The pomp of that tremendous day, When thou in clouds shalt come To judge the nations at thy bar: And tell me, Lord, shall I be there, To meet a joyful doom?

5 Be this my one great business here,
With serious industry and fear,
Eternal bliss to ensure;
Thine utmost counsel to fulfil,
To suffer all thy righteous will.
And to the end endure.

6 Then, Saviour, then my soul receive, Transported from this vale, to live And reign with thee above: Where faith is sweetly lost in sight, And hope, in full supreme delight, And everlasting love.
