A BILL TO Enable leaseholders of houses or premises whose A.D. 1927 original leases were granted for a period or term of not less than thirty years to compulsorily acquire the freehold estate and such other outstanding interests affecting the property by agreement, or, failing agreement, by arbitration under the Arbitration Act, 1889, or any statutory modification thereof. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the law so as to give to certain leaseholders in England and Wales the power to acquire the freehold reversion of their leases: 5 Be it therefore enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 10 1. This Act may be cited for all purposes as the Short title. Leasehold Enfranchisement (England and Wales) Act, 1927. 2.
