ETERNAL Spirit! we confess, And sing, the wonders of thy grace: Thy power conveys our blessings down, From God the Father, and the Son. 4. We'll crowd thy, gates, with thankful | 2. Give tongues of fire, and hearts of love, A sinful world their God to meet: Breathe thou abroad, like morning air, Till hearts of stone begin to beat. 4. Baptize the nations; far and nigh The triumphs of the cross record; The name of Jesus glorify, Till every kindred call him-Lord. The flaming heavens together roll; 3. Oh! on that day, that wrathful day, 544. Praise to God for his Greatness and Mercy. 1. To God, the great, the ever-blessed, Let songs of honor be addressed; His mercy firm for ever stands; Give him the thanks his love demands. 2. Who knows the wonders of thy ways? Who shall fulfill thy boundless praise? Blest are the souls that fear thee still, And pay their duty to thy will. 3. Remember what thy mercy did For Jacob's race, thy chosen seed; And, with the same salvation, bless The meanest suppliant of thy grace. 4. Oh! may I see thy tribes rejoice, And aid their triumphs with my voice: This is my glory, Lord! to be Joined to thy saints, and near to thee. 1. Now I resolve, with all my heart, 2. O, be this service all my joy! Around let my example shine; Till others love the blest employ, And join in labors so divine. 3. Be this the purpose of my soul, My solemn, my determined choice, To yield to his supreme control, And in his kind commands rejoice. 4.
