All things are ready, sinner, come, For every trembling soul there's room. 3 Believe the heavenly word

His messengers proclaim,
He is a gracious Lord,

And faithful is his name ;
Backsliding souls, return, and come
Cast off despair, there yet is room.
4 Drawn by his bleeding love,
Ye wandering sheep draw near,
Christ calls you from above,
His charming accents hear.
Let whosoever will, now come,
In mercy's breast there yet is room.

381.-8, 7.

COME TO CHRIST.

1 COME, ye sinners, poor and wretched,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore,
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of mercy, join'd with power;
He is able,

He is willing; doubt no more.
2 Oh! ye needy, come, and welcome,
God's free bounty glorify;
True belief, and true repentance,
Every grace that brings us nigh:
Without money,

Come to Jesus Christ, and buy

3 Let not conscience make you linger,
Nor of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness He requireth,
Is to feel your need of him;
This He gives you,

'Tis the Spirit's rising beam. 4 Come, ye weary, heavy-laden, Lost and ruin'd by the fall; If you tarry till you 're better, You will never come at all. Not the righteous,

Sinners, Jesus came to call.

5 View him prostrate in the garden,
On the ground your Saviour lies!
On the bloody tree behold Him,
Hear Him cry before He dies,
"It is finish'd!"
Sinner, will not this suffice?

6 Lo! th' incarnate God, ascended,
Pleads the merit of his blood!
Venture on Him, venture wholly,
Let no other trust intrude;
None but Jesus

Can do helpless sinners good.

7 Saints and angels, join'd in concert Sing the praises of the Lamb; While the blissful seats of heaven, Sweetly echo with His name; Hallelujah!

Sinners here may sing the same.

382.-P. M.

1 WE'RE bound for the kingdom: Will you come with us to glory, And sing hallelujah,

Sing glory, hallelujah!

2 We're bound for the kingdom: Will you come with us to glory, And sing hallelujah,

To God and the Lamb!

1 To those who love thee, gracious Lord, How bright, how precious is the Word, By God in mercy given;

A guide to all who, travelling here, 'Mid sin and darkness, death and fear, Are pressing on to heaven.

2 O gracious Saviour, God of love,
Let thine own Spirit from above,
Now fill us with desire

To read, to mark, to learn Thy will,
And with thy truth our spirits fill,
And touch our hearts with fire.
3 And till in glory Thou dost come
To take thy waiting people home,
May we obedient stand;

Doing Thy will, till that great day,
When from this earth we 're called away,
To take our better land.

384.-8, 7, 7.

1 PRECIOUS BIBLE! what a treasure Does the Word of God afford! All I want for life or pleasure,

Food and medicine, shield and sword:
Let the world account me poor,
Having this, I need no more.

2 Food, to which the world's a stranger,
Here my hungry soul enjoys;
Of excess there is no danger,
Though it fills it never cloys:
On a dying Christ I feed,
He is meat and drink indeed,

3 When my faith is faint and sickly,
Or when Satan wounds my mind,
Cordials to revive me quickly,
Healing medicines here I find:

To the promises I flee,
Each affords a remedy

4 In the hour of dark temptation,
Satan cannot make me yield;
For the word of consolation,
Is to me a mighty shield:
While the Word of God is sure,
From his malice I'm secure.

5 Vain his threats to overcome me,
When I take the Spirit's sword,
Then with ease I drive him from me-
Satan trembles at the Word:
"Tis a sword for conquest made,
Keen the edge and strong the blade.
6 Shall I envy then the miser,
Doting on his golden store?
I am happier far, and wiser;
I am rich-'tis he is poor
Jesus gives me, in his word,

Food and medicine, shield and sword.

1 I LOVE the sacred book of God,
No other can its place supply;
It points me to the saints' abode,
It gives me wings, and bids me fly.
2 Sweet book! in thee my eyes discern
The image of my absent Lord;
From thine illumined page I learn
The joys His presence will afford.
