As far as possible connect each bird and animal with some particular fact. This will aid the memory also. Draw lessons for the children wherever possible.

What other living creatures and insects are found in the Holy Land? Draw lessons, if you can, for the children from their habits.

LUTHER LEAGUE TOPICS
(Continued from page 29)

All who have greatly served have lived their life by the light and truth they have had.

It may not be necessary for us to die the death of a martyr, but it is necessary for us to live a life of truth, right and good, if we are to serve our fellowmen.

The motto of one of the leading organization of business men is, "He profits most who serves best." Let us remember that this motto will also apply to our citizenship in the Kingdom of God, as well as the United States of America.

Our topic is historical and speaks of martyrs. This brings thoughts of the past. Our aim in our study should be, however, lessons that we may learn for the present.

What made those of whom we study martyrs? Aggressive work in a good cause, whether for church or state. Is there any danger of us becoming martyrs through our aggressiveness?

Martyrs come from a strong conviction, strong convictions come from a knowledge

of a truth and then having faith to endure to the end.

Those who died the death of a martyr lived a life of service.

We learn by imitation, hence a very good
reason for the study of our topic.
"God give us men! The time demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and
willing hand

Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries with-
out winking;

Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the
fog

In public duty and in private thinking." As the martyrs were called to a life of service, so:

"Jesus calls us o'er the tumult

Of our life's wild restless sea; Day by day His sweet voice soundeth Saying, Christian, follow Me."

"Lives of great men oft remind us

We can make our lives sublime; And departing, leave behind us

Footprints on the sands of time." All things are cheap to the saving, dear to the wasteful.-Buy War Savings Stamps.
