When the price is an even number of fhillings. RULE. Multiply the quantity by half the fhillings, doubling the first (or right hand) figure of the product for fhillings, the ret are pounds. EXAMPLES. Tret is an allowance for wafte, duft, &c. generally at 4 lb. 104 lb. per Gloff is an allowance for the turn of the scale, at 2 lb. per 3 cwt. Grofs weight is the whole weight of the goods, together with the hogfhead, barrel, or bag, &c. that contains them. Suttle is when part of the allowance is deducted from the grofs. Neat weight is what remains after all allowances are made. |
