Thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, thou God of truth.

I hate them that regard lying vanities:

But I trust in the Lord.

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast seen my affliction;

Thou hast known my soul in adversities:

And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;

But I trusted in thee, O LORD:
I said, Thou art my God.

My times are in thy hand:

Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Make thy face to shine upon thy

servant:

Save me in thy lovingkindness. Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee:

Let the wicked be ashamed, let

Thou hast set my feet in a large them be silent in Sheol. place.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in distress:

Mine eye wasteth away with grief, yea, my soul and my body.

For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing:

My strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted away.

Because of all mine adversaries I am become a reproach,

Yea, unto my neighbours exceedingly, and a fear to mine acquain

tance:

They that did see me without fled from me.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. For I have heard the defaming of many,

Terror on every side:

While they took counsel together against me,

They devised to take away my life.

Let the lying lips be dumb; Which speak against the righteous insolently with pride and contempt.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee,

Which thou hast wrought for them that put their trust in thee, before the sons of men!

In the covert of thy presence shalt thou hide them from the plottings of man:

Thou shalt keep them secretly in pavilion from the strife of tongues.

a

Blessed be the LORD:

For he hath shewed me his marvellous lovingkindness in a strong city.

As for me, I said in my alarm, I am cut off from before thine eyes: Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

O love the LORD, all ye his saints:

The Lord preserveth the faithful, And plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that wait for the Lord.

THE SEVENTH DAY

MORNING WORSHIP
PSALM 32

BLESSED is he whose transgres

sion is forgiven,

Whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the

LORD imputeth not iniquity,

And in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old

Through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me:

My moisture was changed as with the drought of summer.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD;

And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.

For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found:

Surely when the great waters overflow they shall not reach unto him.

Thou art my hiding place; thou wilt preserve me from trouble;

Thou wilt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:

I will counsel thee with mine eye upon thee.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: Whose trappings must be bit and bridle to hold them in.

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked:

But he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous:

And shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

THE SEVENTH DAY

EVENING WORSHIP
PSALM 33

REJOICE in the LORD, O ye right

eous:

Praise is comely for the upright. Give thanks unto the LORD with harp:

Sing praises unto him with the psaltery of ten strings.

Sing unto him a new song; Play skilfully with a loud noise. For the word of the LORD is right;

And all his work is done in faithfulness.

He loveth righteousness and justice:

The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made;

And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host:

A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

A horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great power.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is

He gathereth the waters of the upon them that fear him, sea together as an heap:

He layeth up the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the LORD: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought:

He maketh the thoughts of the people to be of none effect.

The counsel of the LORD standeth fast for ever,

The thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;

The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men; From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

He that fashioneth the hearts of them all,

That considereth all their works.

Upon them that hope in his mercy;

To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul hath waited for the LORD:

He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy

name,

Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.

THE EIGHTH DAY

MORNING WORSHIP
PSALM 34

I WILL bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD:

The meek shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt his name together.

I sought the LORD, and he answered me,

And delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and were lightened:

And their faces shall never be confounded.

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

O taste and see that the LORD is good:

Blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

O fear the LORD, ye his saints: For there is no want to them that fear him.

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:

But they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

Come, ye children, hearken unto

me:

I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

What man is he that desireth life, And loveth many days, that he may see good?

Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous,

And his ears are open unto their cry.

The face of the LORD is against them that do evil,

To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

The righteous cried, and the LORD heard,

And delivered them out of all their troubles.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart,

And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous:

But the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

He keepeth all his bones: Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: And they that hate the righteous shall be condemned.

The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants:

And none of them that trust in him shall be condemned.

THE EIGHTH DAY

EVENING WORSHIP
PSALM 36:5-12

THY lovingkindness, O LORD, is in the heavens;

Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies.

Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God;

Thy judgements are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God!

And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;

And thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life:

In thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee;

And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Let not the foot of pride come against me,

And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the LORD; Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.

And he shall make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD,

And wait patiently for him.

THE NINTH DAY

MORNING WORSHIP

PSALM 37:8-29; 35-37

FRET not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,

Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Cease from anger, and forsake

There are the workers of iniquity wrath: fallen:

They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.

PSALM 37:1-7

FRET not thyself because of evildoers,

Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.

Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.

For evil-doers shall be cut off: But those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the land.

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:

Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the land;

And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked plotteth against the just,
