Forty-one cows and two bulls were purchased to replace the dairy. The poultry and swine industry has been enlarged with a view of eventually supplying the school with these products. A Fordson tractor was purchased to supply power for increasing farm operations.

The farm and garden crops have produced normal yields. Following is a report of the farm and garden products for the year 1923:

Debits include wages of farm and garden employees, feed purchased and home products, fertilizers, rents, repairs to farm machinery, interest on investments, depreciation of buildings and equipment, and miscellaneous supplies.

SPECIAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS REQUESTED OF 1925 LEGISLATURE 1. Reconstruction of water sections, Boys' Building, $20,000.

The Legislature of 1923 appropriated $10,000 for the reconstruction of water sections and plumbing, Boys' Building. We have contracted for approximately one-third of the work required in this building at $9,348. To complete the work will require an additional appropriation of $20,000.

2. Repairs and replacement of plumbing, $6,000.

3. Repairs to present ice house and refrigerators, $3,000.
This amount is needed for repairing ice chamber in meat
cooler, building new walls to ice house, and replacing studding,
sheeting, etc.

4. Furniture and furnishings, $16,000.

To include 200 new beds, 200 blankets, 200 mattresses, 200 pillows, 300 chairs for wards and dining rooms, dressers, tables, To replace furniture and furnishings and care for increased population.

5. Bakery (repairs, alterations and equipment), $5,000.

Our bakery needs a new oven, tins and racks; also a new floor and additional storage room for materials. This building is in urgent need of repairs and equipment, and we request that this item be given special consideration.

6. Kitchen and canning plant equipment, $3,500.

Vegetable parer, bread cutting machines, kettles, cooker, sinks, power ice cream freezers, corn cutter and filler. 7. Motor bus truck, $2,700.

With the several colonies that we have organized and are organizing this bus is necessary for the transfer of children. Also, it will be used in conveying children to picnics, movies, the circus and State Fair.

8. Repairs to roofs, gutters and trim, $4,000.

The Legislature of 1924 appropriated $3,000 for this work, which was not adequate. Our roofs, gutters and trim urgently need repairs and replacement.

9. Fan for boiler plant (to include installing), $1,200.

This fan is to serve as an auxiliary. The present fan has been in use about fifteen years. If this fan, which supplies the forced draft to our boilers should break, we would be without heat in our buildings until it could be repaired or replaced.

10. Heating system, $6,000.

Replacing hot air furnace with steam and radiators, Garden Cottage. Replacement of heating stacks south wing and Gymnasium Building.

11. Repairs and alterations to buildings, $12,000.

To include labor, materials, etc.

12. Roads, grounds and walks, $2,000.

A fence from the Main Building to Burnet Park, separating the boys' and girls' walks and play grounds. A fence 120 rods along line of Grand avenue and Burnet Park. Cement walks from the Main Building to the Hospital and Girls' Building. 13. Replacement high pressure steam line in boiler and engine room, $3,000.

14. Paving two driveway entrances, $1,500.

Estimate given by the City of Syracuse.

One is a new

driveway and the other was enlarged, each to provide entrance for city fire apparatus.

15. Scales, auto truck platform with house, $2,100.

We have no accurate means of determining the quantity of coal we receive.

16. Fairmount Farm and Colony, $6,000.

New horse barn (twelve horses) and implement shed, $4,000. Plumbing and new floors in cottages, $2,000; (42 boys; five employees).

17. Belle Isle Colony, $5,000.

Poultry houses for 1,000 hens, piggery and slaughter house building and equipment, root cellar. The piggery building which was destroyed by fire several years ago has not been replaced.

18. Munro Colony, $6,000.

Moving and remodeling dairy and horse barn; building new tile silo, ice house, wagon shed, including equipment. Barn to care for twenty head of cattle and two horses.

19. Furnishings and equipment-Colonies, $3,000.

To include beds, blankets, mattresses, chairs, tables, etc. 20. Cement mixer, power; cement block machine, $1,000. To be used in making repairs to buildings.
