LICENSES GRANTED AND MEETINGS HELD Pursuant to the terms of the Statute, the Commission granted licenses during the year 1924 to the following Racing Associations, and meetings were held as follows: Metropolitan Jockey Club (Jamaica). Westchester Racing Association (Belmont Park) Days 33 33 33 26 4 162 The total number of racing days in 1923 was 158; in 1922 was 154; in 1921 was 153; in 1920 was 146; in 1919 was 145; in 1918 was 123; in 1916 was 107. The following are the items covering all the expenses for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1924: Salary of Secretary July 1, 1923 to June 30, 1924.... $2,500 00 Expenses, including printing and stationery, and stenographic services in connection with meetings of Commission, etc. (Fiscal year ending June 30, 1924) 159 84 $2,659 81 This Commission is not and never has been a burden on the State Treasury. Its total expenses are paid by the several racing associations directly to the State Comptroller. The Commission makes no recommendation to the Legislature at this time.
