Is also engaged in the construction and development of the underground electric railway system in London, England. Gave to the University of Chicago a telescope regarded as the largest and finest in the world, located in the Yerkes Observatory at Geneva, Ill.

YETMAN, HUBBARD R. - Superintendent, Stapleton, S. I. Born in Monmouth County, N. J., 1847. Educated at Freehold High School. Enlisted in the 14th Regiment, New York Volunteers, as a drummer boy, at the outbreak of the Civil War. Served throughout the war, and was in a number of severe engagements. Taught school in Tottenville, S. I., for fifteen years, and was for several years a justice of the peace in that section. Assemblyman, 1889-93. Now superintendent of schools for the Borough of Richmond of the City of New York.
