Neo-liberalism Or Democracy?: Economic Strategy, Markets, and Alternatives for the 21st Century

Cover
Pluto Press, 1999 - 255 Seiten
This work explores some central tenets of modern economics. In doing so, it subjects them to trenchant examination - including the case for free trade and the inevitability of ever more grotesque income inequalities. It argues that current policies are delivering neither sustained economic growth nor many of the other things fundamental to people's wellbeing. The book argues that there is a feasible alternative, and provides clear indications of how to construct a democratically controlled economic strategy which both delivers growth and meets everyone's needs.
