Jeffrey Hopkins, Ph.D., served as the interpreter to the Dalai Lama for a decade. A Buddhist scholar & the author of more than twenty books & translations, he is Professor of Tibetan & Buddhist Studies at the University of Virginia, where he founded the largest academic program of Tibetan Buddhism studies in the West. He lives in Charlottesville.
