The Library was open every day in the year. During the winter months we did not open on Sunday afternoons because of the lack of heat. I do not think it really pays to open on Sunday. We tried it last summer, and for several Sundays in succession we would not have a single reader and at other times not over two or three. The holiday issue justifies the policy of the Board in keeping the Library open, especially on those days that are not generally observed. On Christmas, Fourth of July, etc., while the number of volumes drawn for home reading was far below the average of every other day, still it justifies us to keep open.

No attempt has been made to keep a record of the number of volumes issued in the reading room. In fact, no account has been kept of visitors to the reading room at all.

Furniture purchased for the Library room, a paper rack. Number of papers in use 31; number of magazines in use 22.
