Another New Clause ("Notice to discontinue supply of electricity") brought up, and read the first time as follows:-

"(1) A notice to any authorised undertakers from a consumer for the discontinuance of a supply of electricity shall not be of any effect unless it be in writing signed by or on behalf of the consumer and left at the office of, or sent by post to, the authorised undertakers or given by the consumer personally at the office of the authorised undertakers.

(2) Notice of the effect of this section shall be endorsed upon any demand note for the charges of electricity "(Colonel Sir Joseph Nall).

Motion made, and Question, "That the Clause be read a second time,❞—put, and negatived.

Another New Clause (" Power to refuse to supply electricity in certain cases ") brought up, and read the first time as follows:

Any authorised undertakers may refuse to supply electricity to any person whose payments for the supply of electricity or meter rent in respect of the supply of electricity are for the time being in arrear, whether any such payments be due to the authorised undertakers in respect of a supply to the premises in respect of which such supply is demanded or in respect of other premises "-(Colonel Sir Joseph Nall).

Motion made, and Question, "That the Clause be read a second time,"-put, and negatived.

Another New Clause ("Power to recover charge for reconnection")-(Colonel Sir Joseph Nall)-brough tup, read the first and second time, and added to the Bill.
