I am that I am:

This is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Exod. iii. 14, 15. Whatfoever God doth, it fhall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doth it, that men fhould fear before him. Eccl. iii. 14.

Jefus Chrift is the same yesterday, to-day, and for ever.. Heb. xiii. 8.

Whither then fhall I go from thy fpirit? Or whither fhall I go then from thy prefence? -If I climb up into heaven, thou art there: If I go down to hell, thou art there also.

If I take the wings of the morning, and remain in the uttermoft parts of the fea:

LESSON X.

The Knowledge of God.

Known unto God are all his works, from the beginning of the world. Acts xv. 18.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifefted in his fight: but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Heb. iv. 13.

He looketh to the ends of the earth, and feeth under the whole heaven. Job xxviii. 24.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Prov. xx. 3.

He is wife in heart. Job ix. 4. He is the only wife God. 1 Tim. i. 17. The Lord by wifdom hath founded the earth. Prov. iii. 19.

He hath established the world by his wifdom, and hath ftretched out the heavens by his dif cretion. Jer. x. 12.

O Lord,

O Lord, how manifold are thy works, in wifdom haft thou made them all. Pfal. civ. 24. He giveth wifdom unto the wife, and knowledge to them that know underftanding. Dan. ii. 21.

LESSON XII.
His Power.

Power belongeth unto God. Pfal. lxii. 11. Haft thou not known? Haft thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? Ifa. xl. 28.

In thine hand is there not power and might, fo that none is able to withstand thee? 2 Chron. xx. 6.

Thus faith the Lord, thy Redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord, that maketh all things, that stretcheth forth the heavens alone, that fpreadeth abroad the earth, by myfelf. Ifa. xliv. 24.

LESSON XHL

The Goodness of GOD in general.

There is none good but one, that is God. Matth. xix. 17.

The Lord is loving unto every man, and his mercy is over all his works. Pfal. cxiv. 9.

He maketh his fun to rife on the evil and on the good, and fendeth rain on the just and on the unjuft. Matth. v. 45.

Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any. Job. xxxvi. 5.

LESSON XIV.

The Reward of the Righteous.

He will fulfil the defire of them that fear him. Pfal. cxiv. 19.

Thou, O Lord, wilt give thy bleffing unto the righteous; and with thy favourable kindnefs wilt thou defend him as with a fhield. Pfal. v. 13.

The eyes of the Lord run to and fro through-. out the whole earth, to fhew himself ftrong in behalf of them whofe heart is perfect towards him. 2 Chron. xvi. 9.

God giveth to man that which is good in his fight, wisdom, and knowledge, and joy. Eccl. ii. 26.

LESSON XV.

His Mercy to the Wicked.

The mercy of the Lord is everlasting. Pfal. c. 5

As I live, faith the Lord God, I have no pleafure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Ezek.

xxxiiii. 1.

Let the wicked 'forfake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Ifa. lv. 7.

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveneffes, though we have rebelled against him, Dan. ix. 9.

The ftatutes of the Lord are right. P. xix. 8. The Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth. Dan ix. 14..

God is no refpecter of perfons; but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh rightcoufnefs, is accepted with him. Acts x. 34, 35.

God hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteoufnefs. As xvii. 31. Shall not the judge of all the earth do right? Gen. xviii. 25.

LESSON XVII.

His Truth and Faithfulness.

Juft and true are thy ways, thou king of faints. Rev. xv. 3.

He is the faithful God who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him, and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations. Deut. vii. 9.

The Lord is not flack concerning his promife, as fome count flackness. 2 Pet. iii. 9.

God is not a man that he fhould lie, neither the fon of man that he fhould repent. Numb..

xxiii. 19.

Heaven and earth fhall pass away, but my words fhall not pafs away. Matt. xxiv. 35.

LESSON XVIII.

His Holinefs.

There is none fo holy as the Lord.
