As young persons are usually made acquainted
with English grammar, before they commence
the study of Latin, the rules and remarks in Or-
thography, applying, for the most part, equally
to English and to Latin, are general and concise.

In this edition, the notes are enlarged; but
their order is not much altered. The general
tules and examples are placed, as they were in
the former edition.
