SI have now, though perhaps but faintly, touched upon

the duties most effential in the marriage-ftate, it appears to me unneceffary to purfue this work any farther; though I am certain there are many follies, not to give them a harsher name, incident to my fex, which are not even glanced at in thefe Effays. The moft glaring, perhaps, that has been left unnoticed, is the universal spirit of diffipation which feems to reign among all ranks of women. But though
