LAMED NUN or TAU. 32. Verbs Lamed Nun or Tau, when their person. al terminations begin with 3 or 1, commonly drop their last radical ; as, NM, Ifai. LX. 4. they shall be nursed, or supported, for 17330NM, from Ps, to support : 7D, Gen. XIX. 19. for HD, 1 shall die.

33 The verbs, to give, not only drops its initial 3, according to No. 24. of this Sec. and its final one before a personal termination beginning with 3; but also generally loses its final before a personal termination beginning with m; as, nn, I have given, for nons.

35. Many Hebrew words are doubly imperfect, or irregular, chiefly such as have or ; for the first letter, and for the last. Thus, we find Job, XIX. 2. 1942957 second person masculine plural of the future of Hiph. from 72, to afflict ; Psalm, LXXV. 2. 937cm, first person plural of the preter of Hiphil, from 1779, to confess : Gen. XII. 8. 69, third person masculine fingular of the future of Kal, from 1703, to extend : Exod. IX. 15. N, first person singular future of Kal, from 1755, to fmite.

36. When the middle radical is irregular, the extremes are regular ; as, by, which never loses its first radical.

37. If both or either of the extremes be irregular, the middle radical is regular ; às, 43, which never lofes its middle radical : hence it follows, that, if but one radical appear in a verb, it is always the middle one ; as, 157, from 1735; and the radical
