5 Wide as the world is Thy command,

Vast as eternity Thy love;
Firm as a rock Thy truth must stand,
When rolling years shall cease to move. Amen.

5 Praise Him ever,

Bounteous Giver; Praise Him, Father, Friend, and Lord! Each glad soul its free course winging, Each glad voice its free song singing, Praise the great and mighty Lord!Amen.

2 Whene'er the sweet church bell
Peals over hill and dell,

May Jesus Christ be praised!
Oh, hark to what it sings,
As joyously it rings,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

6 The night becomes as day,
When from the heart we say,

May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear,
When this sweet chant they hear,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

3 My tongue shall never tire
Of chanting with the choir,

May Jesus Christ be praised!
This song of sacred joy,
It never seems to cloy,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

4 When sleep her balm denies, My silent spirit sighs,

May Jesus Christ be praised! When evil thoughts molest, With this I shield my breast,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

7 In heaven's eternal bliss
The loveliest strain is this,

May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let earth, and sea, and sky
From depth to height reply,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

5 Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find,

May Jesus Christ be praised!

8 Be this, while life is mine,
My canticle divine,

May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this the eternal song
Through ages all along,
May Jesus Christ be praised! Amen.

Small notes for the organ

2 Deep in the Prophets' sacred page, 3 That life of truth, those deeds of love,

Grand in the poets' winged word, That death of pain, 'mid hate and scorn; Slowly in type, from age to age, These all are past, and now above,

Nations beheld their coming Lord; He reigns our King! once crowned with Till through the deep Judean night

thorn. Rang out the song,

“Good-will to Lift up your heads, ye heavenly gates; men!"

So sang His hosts, unheard by men; Hymned by the first-born sons of light, Lift up your heads, for you He waits. Re-echoed now,

“ Good-will!” Amen. We lift them up! Amen, Amen!

4 Nations afar, in ignorance deep; 5 Sing to the Lord a glorious song,

Isles of the sea, where darkness lay; Sing to His name, His love forth tell; These hear His voice, they wake from Sing on, heaven's hosts, His praise prosleep,

long; And throng with joy the upward way. Sing, ye who now on earth do dwell; They cry with us, “ Send forth Thy Worthy the Lamb for sinners slain, light,”

From angels, praise; and thanks from O Lamb, once slain for sinful men;

men; Burst Satan's bonds, O God of might; Worthy the Lamb, enthroned to reign, Set all men free! Amen, Amen!

Glory and power! Amen, Amen! Amen.

Day-spring from on high, be near; Day-star, in my heart ap - pear.

A-men.

2 Dark and cheerless is the morn

Unaccompanied by Thee; Joyless is the day's return,

Till Thy mercy's beams I see; Till Thou inward light impart, Glad my eyes, and warm my heart

3 Visit then this soul of mine!

Pierce the gloom of sin and grief!
Fill me, Radiancy Divine;

Scatter all my unbelief!
More and more Thyself display,
Shining to the perfect day! Amen.
