2 O Jesus, Lamb once crucified
To take our load of sins away,
Thine be the hymn that rolls its tide
Along the realms of upper day.

3 0 Holy Spirit from above,

In streams of light and glory given, Thou source of ecstacy and love,

Thy praises ring through earth and heaven.

4 O God Triune, to thee we owe

Our every thought, our every song; And ever may thy praises flow

From saint and seraph's burning tongue.

140 "From everlasting to everlasting thou

art God."

HOLY, holy, holy, Lord

God of hosts, eternal King,

By the heavens and earth adored;
Angels and archangels sing,
Chanting everlastingly

To the blessed Trinity.

2 Thousands, tens of thousands, stand,
Spirits blest, before thy throne,
Speeding thence at thy command;
And when thy command is done,
Singing everlastingly

To the blessed Trinity.

3 Cherubim and seraphim

Veil their faces with their wings;
Eyes of angels are too dim
To behold the King of kings,

While they sing eternally
To the blessed Trinity.

Six 78.

4 Thee, apostles, prophets, thee,
Thee, the noble martyr band,
Praise, with solemn jubilee;
Thee the Church in every land;
Singing everlastingly

To the blessed Trinity.

5 Alleluia! Lord, to thee,
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Three in One, and One in Three,
Join we with the heavenly host,
Singing everlastingly

To the blessed Trinity.

141

"This is my name for ever, and this is
my memorial unto all generations."

THE God of Abraham praise,
Who reigns enthroned above;
Ancient of everlasting days,
And God of love:

Jehovah, great I AM,

By earth and heaven confess'd;-
I bow and bless the sacred name,
For ever bless'd.

The God of Abraham praise,
At whose supreme command

From earth I rise, and seek the joys

At his right hand:

I all on earth forsake,

Its wisdom, fame, and power;
And him my only portion make,
My shield and tower.

3 He by himself hath sworn,
I on his oath depend,

I shall, on angel-wings upborne,
To heaven ascend:

I shall behold his face,

I shall his power adore,
And sing the wonders of his grace
For evermore.

4 There dwells the Lord, our King, The Lord, our righteousness, Triumphant o'er the world and sin, The Prince of Peace;

On Sion's sacred height

His kingdom he maintains,
And, glorious with his saints in light,
For ever reigns.

5 The God who reigns on high
The great archangels sing;
And, "Holy, holy, holy," cry,
Almighty King,

66

Who was, and is the same,
And evermore shall be;
Jehovah, Father, great I AM,
We worship thee."

6 The whole triumphant host
Give thanks to God on high;
Hail, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
They ever cry:

Hail, Abraham's God and mine,

I join the heavenly lays;
All might and majesty are thine,
And endless praise.

142

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and
the love of God, and the communion of
the Holy Ghost, be with you all."

FATHER of all, whose love profound,

ransom for our souls hath found, Before thy throne we sinners bend; To us thy pardoning love extend. 2 Almighty Son, incarnate Word, Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord, Before thy throne we sinners bend; To us thy saving grace extend. 3 Eternal Spirit, by whose breath The soul is raised from sin and death, Before thy throne we sinners bend; To us thy quickening power extend. 4 Jehovah,-Father, Spirit, Son,Mysterious Godhead, Three in One! Before thy throne we sinners bend; Grace, pardon, life, to us extend.

143 "Of him and through him and to him

are all things; to whom be glory for
ever. Amen."

WE

E give immortal praise
To God the Father's love,

For all our comforts here,
And all our hopes above:

He sent his own Eternal Son

To die for sins that man had done.
2 To God the Son belongs
Immortal glory too,

Who saved us by his blood
From everlasting woe:

And now he lives, and now he reigns,
And sees the fruit of all his pains.

6s. 88.

3 To God the Spirit, praise
And endless worship give,
Whose new-creating power

Makes the dead sinner live:

His work completes the great design,
And fills the soul with joy divine.

4 Almighty God, to thee

Be endless honours done;
The Sacred Persons Three,
The Godhead only One;

Where reason fails with all her powers,
There faith prevails, and love adores.

"And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts." Double.

HOLY, holy, holy Lord

God of Hosts! When heaven and
earth,

Out of darkness, at thy word,
Issued into glorious birth,
All thy works before thee stood,
And thine eye beheld them good,
While they sang, with one accord,
Holy, holy, holy Lord!

2 Holy, holy, holy! Thee,
One Jehovah evermore,

Father, Son, and Spirit, we,

Dust and ashes, would adore;
Lightly by the world esteemed,

From that world by thee redeemed,
Sing we here, with glad accord,
Holy, holy, holy Lord!

3 Holy, holy, holy! All

Heaven's triumphant choir shall sing,
