A separate edition of Part II., including a reprint of some selections from Part I., has been published, for the special use of the Infant Classes,—in which each Hymn bears, at its upper right-hand corner, the number, in brackets, of its position in this book, for convenience of reference. Here, as in other parts of the Selection, those who are familiar with the sacred songs of our Schools and homes, will observe a few alterations and additions,as in Nos. 246 and 274. Such changes have been made only where direct worship could not other wise be offered in using the Hymn-or where, by slightly modifying its language, some popular composi tion of earlier days, might be made better to harmonize with the Scriptures, or to satisfy more fully the requirements of the present time.
