dividends on and in purchasing Corporation stock and also for the investment of such Fund in manner therein prescribed;

And whereas the Corporation have made application to the Minister of Health for the issue of a Provisional Order to amend 5 the Local Acts in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now therefore the Minister of Health in pursuance of the powers given to him by Section 303 of the Public Health Act 1875 and of any other powers in that behalf hereby orders that from and after the date of the Act of Parliament confirming this 10 Order the Local Acts shall be amended so that the following provisions shall take effect that is to say :

1.-(1) Notwithstanding anything in the Local Acts and Use of Loans subject as hereinafter provided the Corporation may exercise Fund in either wholly or partially any statutory borrowing power statutory 15 possessed by them by using for the purpose any moneys forming borrowing part of the Loans Fund and not required for the payment of power. dividends.

(2) The moneys so used shall be repaid to the Loans Fund by equal yearly or half-yearly instalments of principal or of 20 principal and interest combined within the period and out of the fund rate or revenue within and out of which a loan raised under the statutory borrowing power would be repayable.

(3) Interest shall be paid to the Loans Fund on any moneys so used and for the time being not repaid to the fund 25 Such interest shall be calculated at a rate per centum per annum to be determined by the Corporation and to be equal as nearly as may be to the rate of interest which would be payable on a loan raised on mortgage under the statutory borrowing power and shall be paid out of the fund rate or revenue which 30 would be applicable to the payment of interest on a loan raised under the statutory borrowing power.

(4) The statutory borrowing power for the purpose of which the moneys are so used shall be deemed to be exercised by such use as fully in all respects as if a loan of the same 35 amount had been raised on mortgage in the exercise of the power and the particulars of the exercise of the power by such use shall be entered accordingly in the mortgage register kept by the Corporation.

(5) For the purposes of Section 7 of the Act of 1894 any 40 moneys so used and not for the time being repaid to the Loans Fund shall be deemed to be invested in manner authorised by

(6) In this Article the term "statutory borrowing power has the same meaning as it has in the Stock Regulations 1891 to 1921 made under the provisions of Section 52 of the Public Health Acts Amendment Act 1890.

BOROUGH OF STOCKTON-ON-TEES.

Provisional Order for partially repealing and altering
the Stockton-on-Tees Extension and Improvement
Acts, 1869 and 1889.

WHEREAS the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees (hereinafter 15
referred to as "the Borough ") is an Urban District of which
the Mayor Aldermen and Burgesses acting by the Council
(hereinafter referred to as "the Corporation") are the local
authority for the purposes of the Public Health Act 1875 and
the unrepealed provisions of the Stockton-on-Tees Extension 20
and Improvement Acts 1869 and 1889 (hereinafter referred to
as "the Local Acts") are in force in the Borough;

And whereas the Corporation propose to make new bye-
laws with respect to new streets and buildings and alterations
of buildings the subject-matter of which will be cognate to the 25
subject-matter of certain of the said unrepealed provisions;

And whereas the Corporation have accordingly made application to the Minister of Health for the issue of a Provisional Order partially to repeal and alter the Local Acts in the manner hereinafter set forth :

Now therefore the Minister of Health in pursuance of the powers given to him by Section 303 of the Public Health Act 1875 and of any other powers in that behalf hereby orders that from and after the date of the Act of Parliament confirming this Order the following provisions shall have effect that is to say:- 35 1. This Order shall come into operation on the First day of January One thousand nine hundred and twenty-five or on such earlier date on which new byelaws of the Corporation with

3. Section 67 of the Stockton-on-Tees Extension and Improvement Act 1869 shall be altered and shall be read as follows:

"67. The materials to be employed in the construction of any new street shall be subject to the approval of the Corporation."

THURROCK GRAYS AND TILBURY JOINT
SEWERAGE DISTRICT.

Provisional Order for altering the Local Government
Board's Provisional Orders Confirmation (No. 6)

Act, 1912.

WHEREAS by virtue of the Thurrock Grays and Tilbury Joint
Sewerage Order 1912 which was confirmed by the Local Govern-
ment Board's Provisional Orders Confirmation (No. 6) Act 1912
(which Order and Act are hereinafter respectively referred to as
"the Order of 1912" and "the Confirming Act ") the Urban 10
Districts of Grays Thurrock and Tilbury and the Rural District
of Orsett constitute a United District called the Thurrock Grays
and Tilbury Joint Sewerage District of which the governing
body is the Thurrock Grays and Tilbury Joint Sewerage Board
(hereinafter referred to as "the Joint Board");

And whereas the Joint Board consists of three ex-officio members and nine elective members representing the Councils of the Urban and Rural Districts aforesaid;

And whereas it is expedient that the representation of the said Councils on the Joint Board be altered so that an additional 20 member be elected to represent the Rural District Council of Orsett:

Now therefore the Minister of Health in pursuance of the powers given to him by Section 297 of the Public Health Act 1875 and of any other power in that behalf hereby Orders that 25 from and after the date of the Act of Parliament confirming this Order the Confirming Act so far as it relates to the Order of 1912 shall be altered so that the following provisions shall take effect that is to say :—

1.-(1) The number of elective members on the Joint 30 Board shall be increased from nine to ten the additional member being elected by the Rural District Council of Orsett.

(2) The Order of 1912 shall have effect as if in Column 4 of Schedule B to the Order the figure "3" were substituted for the figure "2" opposite to the name of the Rural District of 35 Orsett.

BOROUGH OF WIMBLEDON.

Provisional Order for altering the Wimbledon
Corporation Act 1914.

WHEREAS the Borough of Wimbledon (hereinafter referred to as "the Borough") is an Urban District of which the Mayor 15 Aldermen and Burgesses acting by the Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Corporation ") are the Urban Authority for the purposes of the Public Health Act 1875 and the unrepealed provisions of the Wimbledon Corporation Act 1914 (hereinafter referred to as "the Local Act") are in force in the 20 Borough;

And whereas Section 10 of the Local Act as amended by the Wimbledon Order 1920 provides that the Corporation shall from and after the Thirty-first day of December One thousand nine hundred and twenty-two appropriate and maintain not less 25 than twenty acres (not being land covered with water) of the Wimbledon Park Estate for the purpose of a public walk pleasure ground public park or recreation ground;

And whereas by the Wimbledon (Extension of Time). Order 1922 made by the Minister of Health under Section 1 of the 30 Special Acts (Extension of Time) Act 1915 the time limited as aforesaid was extended to the Thirty-first day of December One thousand nine hundred and twenty-three;

And whereas the Corporation have made application to the Minister of Health for the issue of a Provisional Order to alter 35 or amend the Local Act in the manner hereinafter set forth :
