(2) Failing payment by a certain date named in the conviction of the fine imposed upon the person or 5 persons convicted, it shall be lawful for the sheriff to pronounce decree therefor against the owner or owners of the offending vessel or boat, and upon such decree being pronounced the person or persons convicted shall be relieved therefrom and from all penalties attaching 10 thereto.

(3) It shall be lawful for the sheriff, in the event of a conviction being obtained against any person or persons for contravention of the sixth section of the Herring Fishery (Scotland) Act, 1889, or of any byelaw 15 of the Fishery Board to order the detention of the offending vessel or boat until payment has been made of the fine imposed.

(4) The proviso contained in section four of the Trawling in Prohibited Areas Prevention Act, 1909, 20 shall not apply in the case of any proceedings taken under the Herring Fishery (Scotland) Act, 1889, for trawling within the prohibited areas defined in section five subsection (1) of the first-named Act or for contravention of section six of the Herring Fishery 25 (Scotland) Act, 1889, or of any byelaw of the Fishery Board.

2. The Herring Fishery (Scotland) Act Amendment Act, 1890, and the Sea Fisheries Regulation (Scotland) Act, 1895, are hereby repealed to the extent specified 30 in the third column of the Schedule appended to this Act.

3. This Act shall come into force on the first day of September nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and may be cited as the Illegal Trawling (Scotland) Penalties 35 Act, 1923.

BE it enacted by te advice and consent of the Lord

Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, 5 as follows:-

1. The Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest Continu(Restrictions) Act, 1920, and any enactment amending ance of that Act, shall continue in force until the thirty-first 10 & 11 day of July, nineteen hundred and twenty-three.

2. This Act may be cited as the Increase of Rent Short title and Mortgage Interest Restrictions (Continuance) Act, and extent. 1923, and does not extend to Northern Ireland.
