members shall cease to be members of the Club, subject, however, to the provisions of Article III, Section 4, of the Constitution.

7. A non-resident member may become a resident member upon the first occurrence of a vacancy in the list of resident members, by notifying the Secretary of her desire and right to such membership, and upon her application being approved by the Governing Board and paying to the Treasurer the excess in the annual dues then required from the regular members and that paid by her for the current year.

8. A resident member may become a nonresident member upon the first occurrence of a vacancy in the list of non-resident members by notifying the Secretary of her desire for and right to such membership, and upon her application being approved by the Governing Board. She shall not be entitled to any return or rebate of her initiation fee or of her annual dues for the current year.

9. On the first day of each month, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, a notice shall be sent to each member of the amount of her indebtedness other than annual dues. If such indebtedness be not paid in full on or before the fifteenth day of the month, the name of the member together with the amount of her indebtedness shall be posted on a

notice board of the Club. If such indebtedness shall not be paid in full on or before the first day of the succeeding month, the member shall be refused credit until such indebtedness be discharged in full, and notice shall be sent to her to that effect. Should she fail to discharge her posted indebtedness in full on or before the fifteenth day of the succeeding month, she shall be suspended from all rights and privileges of membership, including that of entering the Club House, until such indebtedness be discharged in full.

Should she not discharge such indebtedness in full on or before the expiration of two months from the date of her original bill, she shall cease to be a member of the Club, subject to the provisions of Article III, Section 4.

RESIGNATIONS

1. Any member may withdraw from the Club, after payment of all dues, by giving written notice of her resignation to the Secretary, and such written resignation shall operate as a release and assignment of all her interests in the Club property.

2. If a resignation be not received prior to April 1, the member shall be liable for dues for the entire ensuing year.

SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION

Any member may be reprimanded, suspended, or expelled for cause by a vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Governing Board, one month's previous notice in writing having been given to the member with a copy of the charges preferred against her, together with a notice of the time and place of the meeting where such charges are to be considered, and when she may in person or in writing present her reasons.

VISITORS

1. The term "visitors" for the purpose of this Article shall be construed to include persons not having a customary place of residence, or of business, or study in the city of Boston, or within forty miles therefrom.

2. No member shall be allowed to introduce more than one resident and one non-resident visitor at a time.

3. All visitors introduced to the Club are re. quested if they have cause of complaint, to make the complaint in writing through their sponsor.

4. Any member introducing a visitor shall be held responsible for the payment of all debts or liabilities to the Club that may be incurred by such visitor. A member desiring to pay her visitor's "house charges" will please notify the office; otherwise a notice of "house charges" will be mailed to the visitor.

5. A member may introduce as a visitor one woman at a time, à resident of Boston, for a single day and evening to the privileges of the Club House (exclusive of residence and entertaining) such visitor to be a guest of the member introducing her and not of the Club.

The same visitor, however, cannot have the privileges of the Club House more than one day or evening in any calendar year.

Members may bring their daughters under eighteen years of age to the Club, their privileges being limited to the bedrooms, hair-dressing room, and restaurant.

6. A member may introduce as a visitor, one woman at a time, an out of town resident, for seven days to the privileges of the Club House (including residence) such visitor to be a guest of the member introducing her and not of the Club. The same visitor, however, cannot have the privi

leges of the Club House for more than seven days in any calendar year. This privilege can be extended by order of the Board of Governors or the President.

7. Members introducing visitors will be personally responsible for their conduct while in the Club. The name of each visitor shall be entered in the Visitor's Book with the name of the member introducing her. Only women can be admitted as visitors.

8. "Guests" (men or women) as distinguished from "Visitors" can be admitted as often as desired to the Dining Room, the Roof Garden, the Recreation Room and the Private Dining Rooms, entering only by the Dartmouth Street entrance and must be met or directed by a member; but unlike visitors, such guests cannot have access to the whole Club House nor to its general privileges.

A charge of fifty cents will be made for each non-member brought to the restaurant for lunch. Husbands and sons of members and daughters under fourteen years of age are exempt from this tax.

XVIII

COMPLAINTS

Any member wishing to complain of any act of neglect or impertinence on the part of a servant, or
