(PART SECOND.)

4.

Be wise, ye rulers, now,

And worship him alone;

With trembling joy, ye people, bow To God's exalted Son.

5.

If once his wrath arise,

Ye perish from your place;

Then blessed is the soul that flies

For refuge to his grace.

PSALM III.

1.

GOD wouldst thou please? with rev'rend

[awe

Observe the precepts of his law;
In secret, on thy couch reclin'd,
Search to its depth thy restless mind,
Till hush'd to peace the tumult lie,
And wrath and strife within thee die.

2.

With chasten'd heart I seek thy shrine, Aud safe to Thee my cares resign;

My weary eyes in sleep I close,

My limbs secure to rest compose;
For thou, Great God, shalt screen my head,
And plant a guard around my bed.

PSALM IV.

(PART FIRST.)

1.

OH King, eternal and divine!

The world is thine alone;
Above the stars thy glories shine-
Above the heav'ns thy throne.

2.

How far extends thy mighty name,
Where'er the sun can roll,

That sun thy wonders shall proclaim,
Thy deeds from pole to pole.

3.

What, then, is mortal man, oh Lord,
That he should claim thy love?

That thou to him shouldst strength afford,
And mercies from above.

(PART SECOND.)

4.

Next to the blest angelic kind,
Thy hand created man ;
And this inferior world assign'd
To dignify his span.

5.

Although I raise my wond'ring eyes, And view the heav'ns around,The stretching waste of azure skies, With stars and planets crown'd:

6.

And view those stars attend the moon,
(The empress of the night,)
And pour around her silver throne
Their tributary light;

7.

Still greater do thy mercies shine,— Thy condescending care

Hath call'd us, with a voice divine,

PSALM V.

1.

LORD, who may to thy love aspire,
Or hope to join thy heav'nly choir,
But he, who rests on Thee his trust;
Whose thoughts are pure, and actions just;
Whose word is truth, whose open heart
Disdains the mean disguise of art ;
Whom no rewards to vice allure,-

He walking wisely-walketh sure.
