Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. THE special services of the church at this season continually direct our attention to the second advent of our Lord Jesus Christ. The importance of this annual celebration will be felt, and its wisdom recognized, when we consider that that event is held forth in Holy Scripture as the great hope of the church-the season of emancipation to "the whole creation" from the "bondage of corruption," and its introduction "into the glorious liberty of the children of God," the crowning of God's purposes of grace and providence in the earth.
