Organized Interests and the State: Studies in Meso-Corporatism
F3Organized Interests and the State represents a new application of corporatist research, to the study of how public policies are formed in Western democracies. Cawson shifts the focus of corporatist theory from the macro-level concerning broad societal trends and comparisons of national systems to the subnational level, bringing countries such as the UK and Canada within the parameters of corporatist analysis. What emerges is a new model of interest group politics that is not concerned with aggregating broad class interests but reflects the more specific concerns of particular categories.
