The Course of Proceedings is considered.

Mr. Macmillan is then heard to state the position of the Promoters with regard to the small part of East Suffolk affected by inadvertent non-inclusion in the notices for the Bill, and proposes an addition to Clause 4 exempting the area concerned from the rating provisions of the Bill, until the Ministry shall otherwise direct.

Mr. Macmillan further points out that a Standing Order point would arise with regard to any corrections made in the Amended Map of the inaccuracies of the contours supplied to the Ministry by the Ordnance Survey, and he therefore proposes to proceed with the Bill on the basis of the deposited plans and not on the basis of the amended and more accurate plan subsequently submitted.

Mr. William James Binnie, is then recalled, and is heard to withdraw certain derogatory statements made by him in his evidence with regard to the cross sections taken by an Engineer of the Middle Level Commissioners.

Mr. Raikes for the Middle Level Commissioners is heard to accept the withdrawal.

The following witness for the Promoters is then recalled and examined by the Committee viz. :-Mr. Alban Tabor Austin Dobson. (See Minutes of Evidence.)

Mr. Hildesley for the London and North Eastern Railway Co., is heard to ask the Committee for an indication of the course of proceedings.

The Lord in the Chair is heard to state that the Committee will Concentrate primarily on the physical feasability and adequacy of the Engineering Scheme.

Mr. Raikes for the Middle Level Commissioners is heard to address the Committee.
