B.B.-REPAYMENT OF ADVANCES UNDER THE LAND
REGISTRY (NEW BUILDINGS) ACT, 1900 (63 & 64
VIC., CAP. 19).

In the year ending 31st March, 1925, the sums received
in respect of Land Registry fees exceeded by £43,145
the amount required to discharge the salaries and other
expenses of the office of the Land Registry. The fees
have been paid into the Exchequer.

Provision is here made for applying a sum equivalent to
the excess of fees over expenditure in part repayment
of the advances made under the Land Registry (New
Buildings) Act, 1900, for the provision of the new
building of the Land Registry Office. The annuity
(provided for in Subhead B of the original Estimate
for Public Buildings, Great Britain) at present
payable in redemption of the debt will be reduced
to £1,985.

The excess fees up to 31st March, 1924, amounting to
£72,151, were applied to the reduction of the annuity
by the Supplementary Estimate for Public Buildings,
Great Britain, 1924-25 (H.C. 11 of 1925).

C.-MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF PUBLIC OFFICES,
&c., AND REINSTATEMENT OF PREMISES FOR.
MERLY OCCUPIED FOR WAR SERVICES—

The original Estimate provided for a reduction in respect
of the cost of services which might not arise during the
year. This expectation has not been realised and
further provision is necessary to make good the defi-
ciency, and for an increase in services carried out for
Public Departments on repayment terms.
