DECREES ABSOLUTE: 1,467 decrees nisi for dissolution of marriage were made absolute on husbands' petitions and 1,119 on wives' petitions. Decrees nisi for nullity of marriage were made absolute on 36 husbands' petitions and on 45 wives' petitions. INTERVENTION BY KING'S PROCTOR: The King's Proctor intervened during the year in 61 suits for dissolution of marriage, and during the year 26 decrees Inisi were rescinded at his instance. (a) Of these three were referred from the Chancery Division and the remainder from the King's Bench Division. DAYS OF SITTING:-The three Official Referees sat for a total of 359 days in London and 71 days elsewhere. PROCEEDINGS BY Note.-Poor persons, whose means do not exceed certain limits, may be admitted to take or defend, or to be a party to, proceedings in the Supreme Court, without payment of the usual fees and costs. A list is kept of the solicitors and counsel who are willing to give their services gratuitously in such cases. At the end of the year the list comprised 2,225 solicitors and 312 counsel.
