NOTE. The above totals differ from the figures given on p. 30 in two respects, being exclusive of the quantities of coal shipped for the use of oceangoing vessels and of the coal equivalent of small quantities of coke exported. The following quantities were shipped for the use of ocean-going vessels:

(a) Trade between Korea and Japan was treated as Colonial Trade, and excluded from the totals of Exports in 1911, 1912 and 1913 and up to 31st August, 1920. From 1st September, 1920, such trade was treated as internal trade and not recorded in the Japanese trade statistics.
