The time was short, the enterprise great; the demands for quick relief pressing; yet I saw it would be better in the end to provide a herald to prepare the way. And so, I began to think, as I thought, the thread began to spin, and the more I thought the more it spun, until there appeared a woof and warp of truth within my mind pleading to be woven into an ensign and sent out upon its Heraldic mission.
