2 O Holy Father, Who hast led Thy children

In all the ages, with the Fire and Cloud,
Through seas dry-shod; through weary wastes bewildering;

To Thee, in reverent love, our hearts are bowed.
3 O Holy Jesus, Prince of Peace and Saviour,

To Thee we owe the peace that still prevails,
Stilling the rude wills of men's wild behavior,

And calming passion's fierce and stormy gales.
4 O Holy Ghost, the Lord and the Life-giver,

Thine is the quickening power that gives increase.
From Thee have flowed, as from a pleasant river,

Our plenty, wealth, prosperity, and peace.
5 O Triune God, with heart and voice adoring,

Praise we the goodness that doth crown our days;
Pray we, that Thou wilt hear us, still imploring
Thy love and favor, kept to us always. Amen.

4 Spare Thy people, Lord, we pray,

By a thousand snares surrounded:
Keep us without sin to-day,

Never let us be confounded.
Lo! I put my trust in Thee;
Never, Lord, abandon me. Amen.

2 Patriarch, and holy prophet,

Gladly, Lord, with Thee they suffer'd; Who prepared the way for Christ, Gladly, Lord, with Thee they died; King, apostle, saint, confessor,

And by death to life immortal
Martyr and evangelist;

They were born and glorified.
Saintly maiden, godly matron,

Widows who have watched to prayer, 4 Now they reign in heavenly glory,
Joined in holy concert, singing

Now they walk in golden light,
To the Lord of all, are there.

Now they drink, as from a river,

Holy bliss and infinite: 3 Marching with Thy Cross, their banner, Love and peace they taste for ever, They have triumphed, following

And all truth and knowledge see Thee, the Captain of salvation,

In the beatific vision
Thee, their Saviour and their King. Of the blessèd Trinity. Amen.

2 Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress and their Might;

Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well-fought fight;
Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light.

Alleluia.
