73. The amounts allocated from Estate, etc., Duties to the Local Taxation Accounts in the years 1916-17 to 1926-27
are shown on pages 109 and 110. These contributions are paid in the first instance into the Exchequer as required by the
Finance Act, 1907, and the necessary payments to the Local Taxation Accounts are made out of the Consolidated Fund.
The contributions for the year 1926-27 are shown in the following table, together with the fund out of which they
arise, and the manner in which the amounts are determined :-

* Under the Tithe Rentcharge (Rates) Act, 1899, a portion of this grant is specifically applied in aid of the Rates on Tithe Rentcharge attached to benefices in England-one moiety of such rates being paid by the Crown. The total amount so applied in the half year ended 30th September, Under Section 7 (3) of the Tithe Act, 1925, which became operative on 1st October, 1926, the amount which would under the 1926, was £215,681. Tithe Rentcharge (Rates) Act, 1899, have been specifically applied in aid of the Rates on Tithe Rentcharge attached to benefices in England is deducted from this grant. The amount so deducted for the half-year ended 31st March, 1927, was £164,312, making a total for the year of £379,993.
