Surveys the history of the rural Jewish community of Nidda in the 19th-20th centuries. Pp. 61-88 discuss the Nazi period. In 1933 the community counted 58 members. Relates to the boycott against Jewish businesses, Aryanization, the Nuremberg Laws, emigration, and the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, after which only 10 Jews remained in Nidda; they left by the end of 1939. 37 Jews who had left Nidda for other parts of Europe were murdered during the Holocaust. Pp. 279-291 describe the fate of former Jewish residents.
