HAMID R. SHAFIE, DDS, CAGS, is a best-selling author andmuch sought-after speaker in the field of implant dentistry. Hereceived his certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies inProsthodontics from Boston University Goldman School of DentalMedicine. He is the director of postdoctoral implant training atWashington Hospital Center Department of Oral and MaxillofacialSurgery. Dr. Shafie currently is the President of the AmericanInstitute of Implant Dentistry, a not-for-profit teachinginstitution in Washington, DC. His best-selling textbook,Clinical and Laboratory manual of Implant Overdentures, ispublished by Wiley Blackwell.
