To His Excellency, John P. ALTGELD, Governor of Illinois:

SIR: I have the honor to submit herewith a report of the transactions of the revenue department of this office, together with brief mention of other departments connected with the office, from which quarterly or annual reports are required by law, and have been made from time to time.

The arrangement is by tabular statements, as follows: 1. Receipts and disbursements of General Revenue Fund. 2. Receipts and disbursements of Special State Funds. 3. Detail of warrants drawn on the Treasury for all purposes. 4. Recapitulation of warrants drawn on the Treasury. 5. Table of balances of Appropriations made by the Thirty-eighth General

Assembly, unexpended October 1, 1894, amount of warrants since drawn thereon, and amounts which lapsed into Treasury September

1895. 6. Table of appropriations made by the Thirty-ninth General Assembly,

showing amount of warrants drawn thereon, respectively, and bal

ances unexpended September 30, 1896. 7. Warrants outstanding October 1, 1894, and September 30, 1896. 8. Condition of School, College and Seminary Funds. 9. Summary of the State Treasurer's account with the several State funds.. 10. School Tax Fund and Interest on the School Fund, distributed to the

several counties, for the years 1894 and 1895. 11. Aggregate amount of State taxes charged on tax books for the year 1894,

the amount of abatements, commissions, etc., the net amount collect

ed, and the amount received at the State Treasury on account thereof. 12. Aggregete amount of State taxes charged on tax books for the year 1895,
