Expenditure to 31

March 1906

172 15 11 Remanet.

Provided for in amount voted.

Provided for in amount voted.

A _branch of the Stationery Office has been established in

Edinburgh, and this expenditure is in respect of the cost of fitting up rooms in the General Register House for its accommo

dation. Provided for in amount voted.

Subsequent to the preparation of this Estimate, an exhaustive

overhaul of the machinery took place, consequent upon the breakage of the main pump rod. As the result of this investigation, it became evident that other works would be necessary to put matters on a satisfactory footing, and pending final decision, the execution of the work for which this provision was made was deferred.

Schomberg K. McDonnell,

Accounting Officer.
