Yes! Thou art still the Life; Thou art the Way

The holiest know; Light, Life, and Way of heaven!
And they who dearest hope, and deepest pray,
Toil by the Light, Life, Way, which Thou hast given. Amen.

3
Lord, Thou canst help when earthly armor faileth;
Lord, Thou canst save when deadly sin assaileth;
Lord, o'er Thy Rock nor death nor hell prevaileth:
Grant us Thy peace, Lord!

4
Peace, in our hearts, our evil thoughts assuaging,
Peace, in Thy Church, where brothers are engaging,
Peace, when the world its busy war is waging;
Calm Thy foes raging!

5
Grant us Thy help till backward they are driven;
Grant them Thy truth, that they may be forgiven;
Grant peace on earth, and after we have striven,
Peace in Thy heaven. Amen.

A-men.

2

3 Calm me, my God, and keep me calm, Calm in the hour of buoyant health, Let Thine out-stretched wing

Calm in my hour of pain; Be like the shade of Elim's palm,

Calm in my poverty or wealth,
Beside her desert spring.

Calm in my loss or gain;
Yes; keep me calm, though loud and rude Calm, as the ray of sun or star,
The sounds my ear that greet;

Which storms assail in vain,
Calm in the closet's solitude,

Moving unruffled through earth's war Calm in the bustling street;

The eternal calm to gain! Amen.

HORATIUS BONAR
