Calm Me, My God
St. Elizabeth C. M. D.
EDWARD JOHN HOPKINS
1. Calm me, my God, and keep me calm, While these hot breez - es
like the night-dew's cool - ing balm Up - on earth's fe - vered brow!
Calm me, my God, and keep me calm, Soft rest - ing on Thy breast; b
Soothe me with ho - ly hymn and psalm, And bid my spir - it rest.
3 Calm me, my God, and keep me calm, Calm in the hour of buoyant health, Let Thine out-stretched wing
Calm in my hour of pain; Be like the shade of Elim's palm,
Calm in my poverty or wealth,
Calm in my loss or gain;
Which storms assail in vain,
Moving unruffled through earth's war Calm in the bustling street;
The eternal calm to gain! Amen.
