1. Fierce raged the tem-pest o'er the deep, Watch did Thine anxious serv-ants keep,
4 Be Thou our Great Deliverer still,
Thou Lord of life and death;
With Thine Almighty breath.
Give wisdom's heavenly lore,

134 We Sing the Praise of Him Who Died
Breslau L. M.
1. We sing the praise of Him Who died, Of Him Who died up
The sinner's hope let
men de - ride: For this we count the world but loss. A-men.
Inscribed upon the cross we see
In shining letters, God is love:
He brings us mercy from above.
It holds the fainting spirit up;
And sweetens every bitter cup.
And nerves the feeble arm to fight;
And gilds the bed of death with light.
The measure and the pledge of love,
The angel's theme in heaven above. Amen.
