LEAD PAINT (PROTECTION AGAINST
POISONING) BILL.

Clause 1.

Amendment proposed, in page 1, line 7, to leave out the words "danger from the use of lead paint to," in order to insert the words "the danger of lead poisoning of " -(Mr. Harney),-instead thereof. Question proposed, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the Clause."

Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.

Amendment made, in page 1, line 7, by leaving out the words "the use of "-(Captain Hacking).

Another Amendment proposed, in page 1, lines 16 and 17, to leave out all the words from the word "for" to the word "dry" in line 17, in order to insert the word prohibiting -(Mr. Harney) - instead thereof. Question put, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the Clause."-The Committee divided:

Another Amendment proposed, in page 1, line 17, after the word "6 dry," to insert the words "or wet "-(Mr. Viant).-Question, "That those words be there inserted," -put, and negatived.

Another Amendment proposed, in page 1, line 17, after the word " down," to insert the words "of all painted surfaces "-(Mr. Harney).- Question put, "That those words be there inserted.-The Committee divided:
