Amendments made, in page 1, line 8, by leaving out the words "for Scotland," and inserting the words "of State"; and in page 1, line 12, by leaving out the words "for Scotland," and inserting the words "of State"-(Mr. Solicitor-General for Scotland), -instead thereof.

Clause, as amended, agreed to.

Clause 2.

Amendment proposed, in page 1, line 14, to leave out sub-section (1)-(Mr. Maxton). -- Question put, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the Cause." --The Committee divided :
