Wilhelm Frick: der Legalist des Unrechtsstaates : eine politische Biographie

Cover
Schöningh, 1992 - 418 Seiten
Traces the career of the Nazi Interior Minister and analyzes his role in the regime, including promulgation of antisemitic legislation. Argues that contrary to Frick's image as a mere bureaucrat, he actively pushed for the adoption of these laws, which incorporated racist ideas he had already expressed in the 1920s, and laid the legal foundation for the Holocaust. There is evidence that he knew about the mass murder of Jews, and he at least passively allowed the deportation of Czech Jews while he was "Reichsprotektor" of Bohemia and Moravia. For these crimes, among others, he was condemned to death by the Nuremberg Tribunal.
