Dr. Sam VanDerhout had abandoned his family's wealth and a promising academic career when his renown as a cannabis researcher elicited the notice of a ruthless Pharmaceutical company. Forced to make a fateful decision, he is propelled into a deal with Washington State: help the quirky logging town of Lester become the state's first major pot producing site.
