Berndt Luderitz, M.D., Ph.D., M.D. (Hon.), F.E.S.C., F.A.C.C., F.A.H.A. is currently professor of medicine and head of the Department of Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Bonn, Bonn, Germany. He is a leading member of many scientific associations, societies, and editorial scientific boards. He has been widely recognized for his work in the field of electrophysiology and history of the disorders of cardiac rhythm. In November 2001, he received the Honorary Doctor degree of the University of Athens.
